In this wide and varied role I led on health and wellbeing across the school; represented the school and children and young people (CYP) at ASN/ Transition reviews; maintained up to date My Profile, Wellbeing and IEP documentation for CYP; monitored progress against set targets; led on reporting of attendance and engagement to team around the CYP; participated and contributed in regular SLT meetings to drive forward the aspirations of the school as a whole and the SIP; encouraged and supported staff to maintain high standards for CYP and the school; promoted professionalism; liaised with SQA with regard to Alternative Assessment Arrangements, enrolment, course and unit registration, quality assurance, estimates, input of qualification results, etc.; point of contact for child concerns, responsible for escalation to HT for DCPO referrals; all aspects of classroom management to deliver courses in computer related disciplines up to Advanced Higher Level. Deputised for HT when necessary.

Develop relevant materials to facilitate Computing Science up to Higher level (Software Design and Development – Visual Basic, Java, Python, Scratch; Web Design and Development – HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Database Design and Development – MSAccess, SQL, ERD; Computer Systems – data representation, hardware, environmental impact, security). Classroom management and assessment. Network administration, planning, upgrades, account creation, permissions, management of VOIP phone system, budgeting and purchasing (hardware, software, peripherals, etc.) liaison and negotiation with external partners, outsourcing.Only IT person on site. First point of contact for all IT related issues. Designed, developed and managed a cross campus gigabit network incorporating 8 servers, 30 pcs, 35 thin clients, 20 laptops, fibre backbone.

Responsibilities included: the everyday running of the Training Department; delivering, developing and assessing Module IT101 – the largest module within the University; developing and evaluating course materials; training needs analysis; evaluation and procurement of external training materials; managing and developing training online and via our VLE; managing and coordinating an extensive staff development programme; managed an ECDL centre - coordinating and delivering ECDL/ Advanced ECDL to staff and external clients; project management; providing advice to the Helpdesk and eLearning Departments; providing IT solutions University wide; managing and developing internal web pages; database design, statistical analysis; and reporting. I also put together a successful application to become a Learndirect Centre.

Responsible for organizing, developing and managing all training activities; identifying training needs based on relevant legislation; compiling programmes of training to achieve demand and to meet budgets; establishing quality parameters and ensuring standards were consistently met; producing regular reports for MD and Directors to assist with decision making; sourcing funding from local enterprises; supporting MD with business development and project panning.
