A small 3D printing service and development company that offers competitive additive solutions for the most demanding applications. Developed large format FDM 3D printers that manufactured products for over 100 companies since 2014. Core expertise in CAD software including AUTODESK, CATIA, and SOLIDWORKS.Worked closely with the engineering team to code and deploy a computer vision system that scanned and identified 3D printing defects during operation. Results included an 80% reduction in failed prints, from 200 to 40 per month. as well as an average of 15 minute reduction in per part post processing time, such as sanding and friction welding, within 2 months of deployment. Settings were calibrated on a regular basis to ensure quality control was maintained.Performed routine maintenance and problem-solving based tasks on a wide range of 3D printers including FDM, SLS, SLA, and DLP. Quality control procedures were performed daily at Squarefruit Labs, including replacing clogged nozzles, replacing motors, adjusting print settings, tensioning belts, material management, calibrating bed levels, and even performing upgrades to endstops and extruders. This resulted in machine downtimes that were reduced from 8 hours a day to only 2 hours per day with consistent surface print quality across multiple 3D printers and slicers.Designed and constructed a series of innovative large format printers that used fixed and conveyor beds for extremely large prints. 3D Printers were constructed using aluminum extrusion frames, with open source hardware including industrial stepper motors and a custom firmware package. Motors were paired with rotary encoders to ensure a high degree of accuracy, reliability, and quality.
