The NPSA IS systems underwent a major refresh. I was responsible for the migration of a number of key applications from the SQL Server environment to Oracle, for which I was required to design the migration strategy and engage with external suppliers. Following the successful completion of the migration I then worked on a rebranding project in which all the web enabled applications were aligned with a new corporate brand. I was the principal web developer, providing guidance to both the IS team and the Communications department. I then worked on a pilot website for a major programme, Patient Safety Direct, to provide an NHS-wide collaborative portal giving SSO access to a new suite of patient safety products and tools. Following this project I went on to implement MS SharePoint 2007 in the NPSA. For this I worked with early adopters to identify their needs and developed SharePoint team sites based on their requirements. SharePoint is now increasingly used within the NPSA. Throughout my time at the NPSA I have provided backup to the NPSA Database Administrator on SQL Server, Oracle and SAS. In addition I have been administering the SharePoint environment for all users. This web site offers resources and services that will help health care organisations around the world. Involved in customisation and implementation of Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) CMS based web site for NPSA as saferhealthcare.org.uk.
