My legal career began as a paralegal for Joe Frank Harris, Jr., attorney at law, in 1995, wherein I primarily prepared estate planning documents, last will and testaments, estate planning trusts, probate petitions and pleadings. I accepted an accounting position with the Bartow County Probate Court in 1999, and became Chief Clerk for Bartow County in 2001. I supervise a staff of 8 clerks, oversee all estate and guardianship matters from the initial filing through entry of a final order, oversee traffic court operations for Bartow County, oversee and approve amendments to vital records, issuance of concealed carry permits and marriage licenses, conduct legal research and writing for the Probate Judge, manage the court calendar, process and issue fireworks display permits for Bartow County, reconcile the Court's bank accounts, issue disposition (of human remains) permits, audit and oversee staff training for GCIC (Georgia Crime Information Center) as the TAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator) for the office, resolve customer service issues and perform such other duties as put forth by the Probate Judge. I find reward in the opportunity to assist the public through the probate process and enjoy the challenges and variety that my job presents.
