The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) advances public safety for educational institutions by providing educational resources, advocacy, and professional development services. IACLEA is the leading voice for the campus public safety community and has over 4,100 members representing approximately 1,175 colleges in 15 countries.

Our mission at the Roger Williams University Department of Public Safety is to enhance the well-being, safety, and security of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We are dedicated to creating a campus environment that balances security with freedom and individual rights with community needs. Our team, comprising 34 dedicated members, including 28 uniformed officers and Emergency Medical Technicians, is committed to fostering a setting conducive to learning, working, personal growth, and social interaction. 🛡️Chief Executive Officer responsible for managing a fully functioning police department consisting of over 90 highly trained employees.🛡️Implemented new police and security technology focusing on personal safety and reducing crime, along with establishing a state-of-the-art emergency communications center. 🛡️Developed a successful student-centered community policing model that cultivates true partnerships throughout the Brown Community. 🛡️Led the department's successful reaccreditation five times by the National Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and recently obtained Rhode Island State Accreditation. 🛡️Carried out several multi-year strategic plans for the department and a series of departmental diversity and inclusion action plans, which have resulted in a more diverse workforce🛡️Implemented significant improvements in the use of information technology, including a communications center that serves the campus community daily.
