Chi Fung was the Secretariat of the Local Organising Committee that organised the inaugural Olympic Esports Week in Singapore from 22-25 June 2023.

Chi Fung was part of the team that supported the work of the Caring SG Commuters Committee to foster and entrench a caring commuting culture in Singapore. He also co-created with stakeholders across industries to pilot caring initiatives.During his stint, he developed the narrative for social inclusion on public transport, and identified strategic partners to co-create on initiatives. He was the project manager of the research study on the perceptions and acceptance of autonomous vehicles in Singapore which was jointly conducted with researchers from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He also successfully project-managed the Heart Zone and caring artwork projects at Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub and Pasir Ris Interim Bus Interchange. Lastly, he co-organised the annual National Kindness Award - Transport Gold ceremony with the Singapore Kindness Movement, and was in charge of the segment for Caring Commuter Award 2020 and 2021.

Chi Fung was part of the team that project-managed the creation of the inaugural ASEAN Data Classification Framework. He also planned bilateral meetings and hosted visiting delegates from the United Kingdom’s Information Commissioner’s Office and Australia’s Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner, which resulted in bilateral agreements to increase collaboration on facilitating cross-border data flows and to share best practices in data protection legislations and investigations. In addition, Chi Fung regularly monitored policy regulation changes on topics related to personal data protection and AI ethics and governance.

Macroeconomics, Trade & Investment Global PracticeChi Fung was part of the team that conducted the Afghanistan Connectivity Study, which aims to prioritise the trade and transport corridors designed to connect Afghanistan to regional and global markets based on trade potential and their operational efficiency.He conducted research on all the corridor initiatives that Afghanistan partakes in, and created a database which houses the relevant information.

Transport and Digital Development Global PracticeChi Fung conducted research and created content for the Secretariat of the Global Infrastructure Connectivity Alliance (GICA), a G20 initiative that strives to promote cooperation, knowledge exchange, and meaningful progress in the field of global inter-connectivity.In 2017, Chi Fung identified the key challenges faced by and the possible solutions to increase global inter-connectivity in the four sectors of Energy, ICT, Transport and Trade, and across the regions of Africa, Central Asia, Latin America and Southeast Asia. He also researched on the synergies and tradeoffs associated with cross-sectoral infrastructure sharing, created content for the first annual meeting that was held in Paris on 25 and 26 January 2018, and refreshed content periodically for the GICA Resource Library.In 2018, he identified key game changers and global trends in global connectivity, and subsequently co-authored the report "Global Connectivity Outlook to 2030". Chi Fung was part of the team that chartered IE2020, a five-year strategic plan to help Singapore companies capture business opportunities overseas. Through regular corporate reporting, he updated senior management on divisional performances and the organisation's contributions to Singapore's external economy. He also coordinated across Firefly agencies to plan the annual Firefly Symposium, and across divisions to organise Global Network Night 2014.

During this internship, Chi Fung was tasked with redesigning and re-drafting the Chinese version of the "Heartland Module", a hands-on learning module for visiting Chinese government officials who were studying Singapore's urban and social planning. He brainstormed new places for site visits and planned a total of 8 new routes in Singapore's model towns of Bishan and Tampines. This module was subsequently incorporated into the programmes for two groups of approximately 60 visiting officials from Macau and Guangdong.Chi Fung also accompanied delegates on their study visits to various government agencies, and facilitated their learning journeys.

Chi Fung gained an insight into academic research when he embarked on various research projects on labour economics under Assistant Professor, Dr. Jessica Pan. Projects include "Foreign Nurse Importation and Native Nurse Displacement" and "What Donors Discriminate on? Evidence from Kiva.org".Chi Fung synthesised and compiled quantitative data inputs from primary sources onto Excel sheets. He also scrutinised and rectified errors made in data collation.

Chi Fung participated in the Next Generation Interactive Textbook (NGIT) project conducted by the National Institute of Education, which attempted to find out whether Normal (Technical) stream students would learn better through hands-on activities when using interactive textbooks, rather than via traditional hard-copy textbooks.He assessed students' performance and reaction to the technology, and presented findings to the researchers for further evaluation as to whether the use of interactive textbooks should be implemented from students from the Normal (Technical) stream nationwide.Supervisor: Dr. Lynde Tan

Chi Fung decided to pursue his interest in stage drama and took on an pro-bono internship at The Necessary Stage, a Singapore-based drama company which produces local plays and organises the annual M1 Singapore Fringe Festival. His responsibilities included developing a classification system to facilitate access to archival materials and classifying memorabilia from plays according to their years of production. He also conceptualised the content for an artist welcome pack for international artists for the 2006 M1 Singapore Fringe Festival. This welcome pack enabled international artists to find their way around Singapore more easily and also provided them with vital information about and contact numbers in Singapore.
