About Greg Childers
Currently working as a prosecutor for the Twelfth Judicial District of Florida. I graduated from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida.My work experience includes construction trades, journalism, and investment in public markets. Prior to attending law school, I owned a stone quarry business while serving as managing editor for my family-run newspaper in upstate, New York. I continue this work as the newspaper's editor, and from that vantage point have been exploring the tensions between social media and public discourse, particularly related to section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Living in Sarasota, Florida for the last 12 years, I’ve also remained dedicated to building community and founded a Community Tennis Association to give players a strong voice in negotiations with other stakeholders. This experience has only further accelerated my interest in advocacy.
