Supervisor: Charis Eng, MD, PhD• Identify a novel immunotherapy agent targeting the tumor microenvironment and synergizing with anti-PD-1 by conducting an in vivo molecule screening in a murine model of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) to assess both treatment efficacy and safety.• Identify breast cancer biomarkers and immunomodulatory metabolites using untargeted metabolomics.• Pinpoint the breast tumor microbiome as a key factor affecting immune subsets in tumor microenvironment by conducting an in vivo bacteria screening in murine TNBC models and based on data from patients and analysis of patient samples. • Developed a 23-plex antibody panel for spectral flow cytometry to comprehensively profile both adaptive and innate immune subsets in tumors, including T/B/NK/dendritic cells, macrophages, and MDSCs.• Manage and coordinate the collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and microbiologists.• Represent our 16 people team to present data to our sponsor, the Gray Foundation, in 2022 and 2023.• Write two research manuscripts for publication as the first author, and a grant proposal.

Supervisor: Jean Zhao, PhD• Investigate therapeutic targets against preclinical glioblastoma by conducting a genome-wide in vitro CRISPR/Cas9 screening (pooled screening).• Identify cancer stem cell signaling as potential therapeutic targets to enhance anti-tumor immunity and antigen presentation by using murine glioblastoma models and 3D cell culture.• Identified mTOR-independent protein translation mechanisms using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.
