I studied sumi-e in Tokyo and then went to Hong Kong where I was tutored by a master artist and teacher, Wong Sau Sing. I returned to the US in 1997 after ten years in Asia.I started exhibiting my art in 1997 and it has been on continuous display in various venues including Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Chastain Art Center. My work was exhibited at Atlanta's Aquarium and will be on display along with my students work at the Atlanta's High Museum during the show of the terra-cotta warriors exhibit. Martha Andreatos, silk painting artist, will be joining me in demonstrating Chinese painting on silk.I taught classes for three years at Abernathy Art Center starting in 1998. I joined Chastain Art Center staff in 2000 now teach four classes a week. I give workshops as well as demonstrations through out the city. I have collaborated with nationally known, silk painting artist, Donna Kassab in South Carolina to teach Chinese painting on silk workshops for the past three years. I will be collaborating with Martha Andreatos to teach Chinese painting on silk workshops at Chastain this fall as well as next spring.Chinese painting is an active meditation. In practing this art, one develops techniques and strokes which will enable them to develop their creative skills. My goal is to share it with as many people as possible. I am in the process of developing instructional videos for people who would like to learn it but can't find a teacher.Specialties: Because I was able to study in Asia under the tutelage of a master, I have a skill which is quite rare in the US. I have a firm grounding in boneless style Chinese brush art.
