Reporting to the Project Director: heading the program for PMTCT in the Central West Zone & Dowa, led the SIDA Project funded by Unicef & Consortium member for Pure study (CIDA). Successfully Coordinating all in district program activities such as monthly clinical HIV mentorship, quarterly joint PMTCT/ART/EID mentorship, supportive supervisions, review meetings, operations research, staffing, training, clinical, development of SOPs and other relevant issues pertaining to the effective running of the “Safeguard The Family Project” funded by USAID. Collaborated well with the HIV/AIDS unit, DHOs, DHMT, PMTCT/ART Coordinators and EID focal person in the Central West Zone & Dowa in ensuring that the implementation of PMTCT activities are well coordinated. Provide oversight and guidance to DHO/DHMT through participation in Zonal and DIP meetings. Played a facilitative role in ensuring that all district activities(supportive supervision and Joint mentorships) are harmonized and that all stakeholders work in collaboration.Played a facilitative role in ensuring that infrastructure renovation and environmental and mitigation plan and ownership are rests in the hands of the DHMT so that health facilities with problems of space and conducive working environment were addressed to the effective running of operations. Monitoring, evaluation and reporting Successfully undertook intensive monitoring and evaluation, data quality assessments and field visits to assess progress and improve performance. Successfully conducted on-going project assessment and specific interventions designed to improve outputs & outcomes. Successfully developed methodologies and monitoring tools to identify impact of program elements. Ensure proper utilization of data collected, collated and analysed by relevant stakeholders in the process of decision making; Lead in ensuring that monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports on HIV/AIDS activities are done within time limits as indicated

I.Research•Coordinated recruitment of research participants for the PK-TB/HAART and Main TB/HAART Study, a Multi-Centre study sponsored by the WHO, and the following countries were involved: South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Uganda. •Recruited for FIND Study. New TB diagnostics. Involved in recruitment for the Gene X-Pert and FIND Specimen Banking.Competencies and skills acquired: research, conceptual and analytical skills.II. Project and Training Management: • Project site management, coordination and collaboration; e.g. supervision and job delegation; Training of newly recruited Clinical Trial Nurses and HIV/AIDS Counsellors as part of the induction; conducting of in-service training, and Trainer of Trainers workshops; preparation of clinic facilities; giving out of feedbacks; ordering and dispensing of study drugs, and stationary; writing of research reports and research proposals for funding; data entry from the source document into the CRFs in conjunction with the study protocol and as per SOP guidelines. Developing and amending of SOPs. Reporting of SAEs. III. People and stakeholder Management:• Successfully developed and Maintained good working relationships with staff from the Department of Health (clinics and hospitals). Locally, liaising with the District Manager and the Provincial office for expansion of recruitment sites. Nationally, liaising with the Medicine Control Council in relation to the Clinical Trial. Internationally, communicating with the sponsors from the WHO/TDR on study related matters. • Successfully Conducted performance evaluations and appraisals twice a year as per staff key areas of performance & conducted monthly follow up visits and performing physical examination to research participants
