Operations: Design, provision, operate, and securely maintain server and network infrastructure to provide an internal web application development environment as well as internal and external web application hosting environments, including VPNs, and SSO relationships with clients. Maintain a cloud-based network utilizing Windows and Ubuntu server operating systems, local and remote backups, IIS and Apache web servers, SQL Server and MySQL database servers, DNS servers, and laptops for all staff. Migrated existing structure from an on-premise network using Cisco firewall and IPS solutions to promote a secure environment, first to a hybrid network, then fully cloud-based. Advise management regarding security best practices and make recommendations for improving network and software security. Consult with clients to provide similar services in small business settings.Development: Participate in all phases of a rapid application development model. Work directly with clients and project managers to gather and document requirements. Act as subject matter expert, advising other developers during the development process. Code custom web application solutions for client needs at a variety of security levels. Test, deploy, and maintain developed applications. Documented applications for users, administrators, and security audits.Acquisition: Responsible for research and recommendation of new hardware, software, and services for the company and for clients, including but not limited to servers, network devices, storage devices, client machines, IaaS, SaaS, VoIP, and development and productivity software.
