Research Assistant
Working on system to probe RMS pressure throughout interior of acoustic levitator for use as ML training data
Controls Software Lead
Robomasters is a robotics competition hosted by DJI in which several robots shoot projectiles at one another and field elements in order deplete "health" and ultimately destroy the enemy "base".The Sentry is a fully autonomous robot with two independent turrets that I have worked on. Some of my projects include: - a sensor fusion algorithm that eliminates drift between the various IMUs on it - a path-following algorithm that allows it to follow any poly line while also reacting to external stimuli - kinematics for its swerve drive drive system, including intelligent braking and power limitingARUW placed 1st in RoboMaster North America 3v3 competition for the 4th year in a row.https://aruw.org
Engineering Intern
Wrote FPGA code to drive company’s next generation ultrasonic imager, including interfacing with a FTDI USB chipOptimized existing Verilog for resource utilization (reduced by 25%) and data transfer efficiency (increased fps by 100x)Wrote Python API to handle USB communication and device register value managementResult will be demoed to potential customers as well as at the IEEE IUS (UFfc) Ultrasonics Symposium
Intern
Worked on two practical applications of Geegah's proprietary imager technology: - Integrated it with a low cost commercial xyz stage via a combination of 3d printed and optical grade parts (including writing a custom controller GUI) and managed to image a sample with unprecedented clarity. The device facilitated easy, precise, and eventually automatable, imaging of uninvertable samples significantly larger than the sensor itself. It was presented at the 2023 DARPA ERI summit. - Helped develop a system that uses the imager to monitor water quality. Aspects worked on include fluidics, hardware control, and front end and back end development using Flask for remote control and monitoring over the web.
Team Captain And Software Lead
Founded team, wrote entire multithreaded software architecture from scratch, implementing algorithms such as computer vision pipelines for localization and object classification, odometry, path planning and execution making full use of a holonomic drive base, obstacle avoidance, and intelligent subsystem control with PID control and stall detection/correction. Additionally, heavily contributed to the mechanical design of each year's robot, designing and 3d printing all custom parts. My team placed 3rd out of 28 teams at NorCal Regionals, and won several awards for mechanical and software ingenuity.https://serenitynow14504.wixsite.com/serenitynow
Intern
Developed a prototype robotic handler to autonomously collect, clean, and deposit soil samples onto a proprietary ultrasonic imaging chip to detect nematodes harmful to farm environments. It was designed in CAD, 3d printed, and actuated via COTS motors, custom motor driver circuits, and an Arduino.Additionally designed a spore collector that was proposed by Geegah to investors as a means of warning for grape farmers against infectious spores.
Research Assistant
Investigated the usage of implanted silicon beads to focus external ultrasonic impulses onto the Vagus Nerve as a means of treating conditions such as epilepsy and depression (FDA approved). Worked with Professor Lal and postdoc Dr. Daviji on running FEM simulations in OnScale, and performed analysis of resultant data in python using Pandas and Matplotlib.Published a preprint of my findings at https://ecommons.cornell.edu/handle/1813/109393
