Design of hardware, firmware architecture. - Acquisition parameters range from 10sps - 80Msps, 14bit-24bit, burst and continuous acquisition over 2-64 channels. - Responsibilities include: o understanding and refining customer requirements o identification of viable approaches and corresponding pricing estimates o development and production of necessary hardware o contributing to the overall software and firmware architecture - Resulted in the development and continuing maintenance of three distinct platforms with modular hardware, targeting different requirement domains and price points. - Also developed a superstructure for management of engineering, production, and quality control information.XPLORE (2012-2015. 2019) Initial development and stabilization of a Physical Properties Measurement System, consisting of various high precision instruments, including a lock-in amplifier, source and measure unit, temperature controller, and nanovoltmeter. The products are now in the incremental development and maintenance phase. Led the Systems Engineering effort, with a wide range of stated and unstated personal responsibilities, including: - Overall responsibility for the systems engineering process, including high-level system and nanosatellite bus design, reliability engineering, mission planning, inter-subsystem coordination and interface definitions. - Design of electronics for a variety of subsystems in varying degrees, including significant portions of hardware development for one (ARM based) flight computer, a 4-axis, 3-phase BLDC drive for RCS, and electronics for an on-board near-IR camera based on the LUPA 300 image sensor. - Software architecture design, including overseeing code quality control & communications protocol design. Direct involvement in the development of flight software for critical functions of the fail-safe MSP430 based on-board computer. - Development, validation, and defense of test protocols. - Collation of reports from various teams and providing system-level representation at various technical reviews. - Involvement in post-launch tracking. - Setup & maintenance of various network resources for the development team.
