Startup Oasis is a Jaipur, Rajasthan based technology and business incubation centre that is developing an active support ecosystem in Rajasthan to inspire, support and mentor students, aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups to solve persistent problems, develop breakthrough innovations and create world class innovations driven enterprises. Startup Oasis has been set-up at the joint initiative of RIICO (http://www.riico.co.in/), Rajasthan’s premiere industrial promotion organization, and the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) (http://www.ciieindia.org/) at IIM Ahmedabad, India’s leading incubation and entrepreneurship centre. RIICO and CIIE felt the need to tap into the vast pool of local Rajasthani entrepreneurship and use their joint expertise to channelize the entrepreneurial energies to foster creativity, innovations and entrepreneurship in Rajasthan.

Jal Bhagirathi Foundation (www.jalbhagirathi.org) works in the water scarce Thar desert of Rajasthan and enables desert communities to revive and construct traditional water harvesting structures, thereby creating water self sufficiency and drought resistance and initiating a virtuous cycle of overall development.

United Villages has developed a mobile enabled rural distribution model that can cost-effectively deliver products and services to small and under-serviced villages in India. The company has set-up its network in the rural areas adjoining Jaipur, Rajasthan and is now in the process of scaling-up across the state of Rajasthan.

GIAN is a technology incubator that incubates rural innovations developed by lead users in various low energy, minimal resource and under-served environments in India. Set-up by the Honey Bee Network, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and the Government of Gujarat, we were able to commercialise a cross section of innovations ranging from agriculture sprayer pumps to a mini tractor, through virtual incubation support and technology transfer.

A venture capital backed B2B marketplace targeted at Maintenance, Repairs and Operational (MRO) procurement needs of small and medium businesses and offering them a web hosted e-procurement solution to search for suppliers, bid for quotes, manage bids and manage all other pre and post procurement processes.
