Professional engineer and technical expert performing engineering services to support the integration of USSPACECOM activities in planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to identify, assess, categorize, and track risk management activities for critical assets, systems/subsystems, and related infrastructure. Coordinates with program managers, special program officers, and other organizations to validate the criticality of and risk to assets vital to USSPACECOM operations and the associated courses of action to ensure mission continuation. Provides engineering and design support for headquarters’ projects, contingency plans and war mobilization efforts. Provides engineering expertise and reach back capability to the command’s components supporting their contingency plans, as needed.

Senior professional civil engineer performing operations and maintenance (O&M) engineering services in support of a military installation. Prepares and reviews engineering designs for a variety of real property facilities construction projects, determines design criteria, creates cost estimates and time schedules, and prepares architect and engineer (A&E) statements of work. Responsible for the in-house civil design and engineering function for a wide range of new structures and for modifications to existing structures. Performs planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems. Serves as a consulting engineer on all design aspects of assigned projects. Coordinates the preparation of and reviews architect and engineer statements of work. Supports in coordinating and integrating support requirements associated with joint/interagency capabilities from all uniformed services, DoD civilians, contractors, and other mission partners in providing multi-echelon deployable support to USNORTHCOM Subordinate JTFs, Service Components, and JFHQ/JTF-States as directed or required.

Strategic planner focusing on integrated crisis management and crisis response plans for natural disasters, consequence management, pandemic influenza, and other civil support missions. Closely coordinates with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Indiana State Department of Health, Indiana State Police, and other state agencies to ensure synchronization in planning. Works with other planners within the National Guard at the state and federal level to develop and refine response plans. Leads bi-monthly planning meetings to facilitate synchronization across the planning staff. Drafts and reviews long-range and short-range plans for implementation by the 12,500 guardsmen of Indiana.
