As a DOD I am responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations to support the conservation mission of Ducks Unlimited. I work closely with volunteers as well as conservation and development colleagues on initiatives and proposals for assigned prospects.

Maryland & Virginia

As the Senior Regional Director (RD) I was responsible for organizing and servicing all Ducks Unlimited committees and fundraising events within my region and was responsible for maintaining all existing Ducks Unlimited area committees and fundraising events on an annual basis. I was responsible for developing and establishing new Ducks Unlimited area committees and fundraising events and ensuring compliance with operating and reporting procedures for fundraising activities within the region. I also communicated with my Director of Field Operations; National Headquarters’ staff; State, District, Zone and Area Chairmen; and other state volunteer leaders on a regular basis and acted as a representative of National Headquarters to further promote Ducks Unlimited to members of the local media and conservation organizations.

At Thornley I was a manufacturer’s representative with a four state territory with total account responsibility, representing eleven manufacturers. I called on a variety of industries, including the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, detergent and cleaner, paint and coating and food products areas.
