Currently working on remodeling a febetron system used for the Magnetically Insulated Line Oscillator in SOLIDWORKS and LTspice to replace the current febetron with a malfunctioning pressure chamber. Also investigating the viability of incorporating a newly developed pulsar switch into laboratory PT-55’s to replace unreliable krytron switches.Remodeled an improvement of a diode with SOLIDWORKS used in the Michigan Electron Long Beam Accelerator

Ran simulations that predict X-Ray induced shockwave parameters in an experiment done using the National Ignition Facility (NIF). Simulations were run using LLNL’s ARES multiphysics code on the lab’s High Power Computing NetworkWrote Python scripts to automate the simulation process and interpret simulation data. These scripts are currently a part of the toolset for the ongoing study of the experimental setupTested the validity of the simulation model by comparing to experimental results. Some considerable discrepancies between experimental data and simulation output were found that are currently being looked into at LLNLPresented both a poster and a 10 minute talk about my work to wrap up the internship

Ran simulations that predict parameters of a plasma undergoing inertial confinement in the OMEGA laser housed at the University of Rochester. Simulations were run through the HELIOS-CR software, which tracks the plasma through 1D analysis.
