Serve as “working team leader” for 4-person production team. Assist in scheduling and prepress planning. Responsible for production planning and management for a large financial services client. Act as liaison between sales and manufacturing from order entry through production and delivery. Engineer jobs to achieve cost savings. Coordinate all outside services. Review AA costs and prepare billing materials. Provide the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Responsible for directing a production/estimating/sales team to insure the production of high-quality and profitable jobs, with a focus on profitability, client satisfaction, client retention, and rework reduction. Directly supervise 4-6 production coordinators. Monitor and facilitate job planning and inter-departmental communications. Review billing and AA costs. Ensure complete and timely information from sales to production. Lead weekly team meetings.

Responsible for overall quality, schedules, deadlines and budgets of assigned accounts. Estimate costs (internal and external); secure bids, supervise production of publication materials and printed materials. Determine the best price/vendor for each specific job and work with each vendor to produce the job in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to meet the project objective. Responsible for magazine specifications/due dates based on media schedules provided.

Supervised five project managers, as well as handling customer service responsibilities for several top accounts. Acted as liaison between scheduling, production, sales and customer service. Developed and maintained job databases for major clients. Spearheaded in-house development and implementation of electronic job ticket. Was instrumental in Brodock twice being named “Vendor of the Year” by a major pharmaceutical client. The purchasing department of this same client rated my customer service as “exceptional”.

Supervised and directed the activities of seven Production Coordinators (see below). Additional responsibilities included assuring that jobs are estimated and priced correctly, and working closely with scheduling to assure that jobs are ready when needed. Improve systems/productivity and helped my subordinates improve and grow professionally, while working towards the goal of zero errors.

Responsibilities included planning packaging developments, developing and implementing packaging cost reduction projects; and preparing packaging specifications. Also, coordinating storage testing, shipping tests, plant testing, and developing and qualifying new material sources. Extensive interaction with marketing groups at corporate headquarters and with engineering and production staff at production plants.
