Precision Machine & Fabrication
Chesapeake, Virginia, United States
Responsible for developing and growing machining & fabrication sales by expanding capabilities• Developed a portfolio of nearly 300 local & national customers totaling approximately 2 million dollars a year in sales for a small 24-person machine & fabrication facility• Implemented a quality control system into our manufacturing process that enabled growth into undeveloped areas of manufacturing for Precise Machine & Fabrication• Routinely met with customers and discussed strategies to fulfill their manufacturing & design needs. • Designed and manufactured tooling, jigs, fixtures, mechanical assemblies for commercial customers such as John Deere, Northrop Grumman, BAE Systems, Liebherr & AMF Bowling• Worked daily with engineering at customer sites to review design issues with manufactured components and/or processes. Worked intimately with production engineers to streamline issues with production and design/fabricate new components to solve problems or enhance existing lines. Many customers were high precision, high production sites that utilized robotics on their assembly lines. The work on these lines had to be conducted within a very short timeframe to minimize impact to production• Met with engineers at Liebherr to discuss a brake caliper design flaw. Took sample caliper back to shop to examine and propose a modification to enable existing calipers to be salvaged. Precise soon began modifying hundreds of existing calipers that saved Liebherr thousands of dollars in time and manufacturing losses• Conducted routine meetings to review production schedules in shop• Participated in trade shows and presented capabilities to parties in the industrial, aerospace, marine & manufacturing fields• Was responsible for securing a “preferred supplier/fabricator” status with John Deere – Williamsburg, VA
