Dr. Charles Chip McNeal has over 30 years of professional expertise in arts, education, and social justice. He is an award-winning, transdisciplinary educator, researcher, civic leader, and activist - working across art forms and genres, focused on teacher education, arts equity, social justice, community engagement, DEIB, and Transformative Learning practices. He is a visionary who guides agencies, non-profits, schools, and governments on change management, policy revision, creative collaboration, assessment, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). He is an expert in Antisemitism, Racial Justice, Critical Dialogue, Social Justice, Public Speaking, Change Management, Executive Training, Negotiation, and Inclusive/Anti-racist pedagogy.McNeal is the former Director of Education for San Francisco Ballet, where he pioneered new strategies for family engagement, the use of educational technology, and student diversification. McNeal holds bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology and a master’s degree in education: curriculum and instruction. McNeal is a certified Oral Historian with a Ph.D. from the California Institute for Integral Studies in San Francisco, where he researched educational equity, transdisciplinary, and transformative studies.Currently, he serves as Director of DEI Education and Learning for Brandies University, where he facilitates equity education, dialogue, antisemitism, and anti-racist pedagogy for students, staff, alumni, and faculty.
