He has extensive experience in litigating trade secret and covenant not to compete cases, having been involved in over 40 successful trials, injunction hearings, or contempt hearings, and authored successful briefs in two of the most significant appellate decisions in the area. He has also been quoted by CNN.com and Wired Magazine as an expert on trade secret cases of national interest and has authored and presented several professional papers on trade secret and covenant to compete litigation. As head of the firm’s Intellectual Property group, Chip brings extensive patent, copyright, trademark, and unfair competition litigation experience to his practice. His recent work involves co-authoring a successful brief to the U.S. Supreme Court on a patent jurisdiction issue and obtaining injunctive relief against future trademark infringement in favor of a high-profile political advocacy group.
