Worked with clients across all industry sectors from government, industry, aviation, banking and higher education to design energy efficient infrastructure and systems. Led design and development of new energy infrastructure for a major international airport, including going beyond the design into preparing operating personnel to manage the new infrastructure. Worked with higher education clients through energy advisory services, often providing them ways to mitigate problems caused by past performance contracts.Developed solutions for major banking client at their corporate offices to improve energy efficiency and building comfort. Created master energy plans and sustainability plans for clients.Lead energy expert for $3 million contract developing infrastructure situation awareness systems for the US Air Force.

North American business segment head for Sustainability & Energy Management (SEM), providing technology and consulting solutions to customers in the infrastructure, cities, commercial, industrial and building technologies markets.Responsible for strategy and P&L for SEM business, including our Pace Global energy consulting business. Business integration lead for Pace Global acquisition.

North American business head for Smart Consumption technologies - applying Siemens' advanced Smart Grid technologies and end-to-end solutions to the commercial and building technologies markets.Led development and rollout of Siemens Intelligent Load Management (ILM) fully automated demand response control platform, first in California as a pilot market, and then throughout the country.

Worked with clients on 5 continents to solve complex energy and infrastructure problems, both technical and financial in nature. Some sample projects include:- Lead author for California Energy Commission's 2009 Cost of Renewable Generation Study, which examined both utilty-scale and commercial-scale renewable energy technologies and their implementation costs, including solar (multiple forms), wind, biomass, geothermal as well as advanced nuclear generation technologies.- Provided testimony for both the California Energy Commission and the Public Utilities Commission of California on energy technologies and applications.- For TVA, provided design feasibility study for converting an atmospheric fluidized bed combustion (AFBC) unit from coal to biomass firing, including supply chain studies, cost estimation, and overall cost of generation.- For Suriname's national utility EBS, led and designed new power plant design for 150 MW reciprocating engine plant, including site selection, Phase 1 environmental studies and air pollutant dispersion modeling, cost estimate and World Bank financing information.- For a Colombian utility, provided PAS 55 (ISO 55000) asset management implementation consulting, including setup of asset management systems, organizational change management, and lifecycle economics and cost modeling.

As development officer, led Veolia Energy's initial growth platform and entry into the US national market. Evaluated 13 M&A deals over 9 months, and closed 2 transactions totaling nearly $1 billion. Developed integration plan and strategy for Trigen Energy/Thermal North America acquisition, the largest rollup of district energy assets in North America. Board officer of Veolia's SourceOne energy services acquisition, serving as a "virtual utility" to commercial and industrial clients.Expanded Veolia's presence in facility management energy services, with wins at major commercial retail centers such as Copley Place in Boston.Grew revenue from $20 million to over $500 million by end of 2007, establishing Veolia Energy's US presence.Used B2B marketing experience to elevate position of Veolia senior executives in the USA, including a feature article and issues interview with Forbes magazine.
