I am a product, marketing and technology leader with a track record of turning great ideas into reality. I have helped companies small and large navigate a world being changed by new technologies - both in the US and internationally. Curiosity and a willingness to embrace new challenges has led me on a career trajectory from a PhD in History to management of some of the most sophisticated social media and big data solutions in the world. I am currently working with an amazing team that is building BlueTrace into the system for the seafood industry. Helping hardworking folks use appropriate technology to deliver safe, sustainable and healthy seafood to markets around the world is immensely gratifying.Among my previous experiences, I led the product and engineering teams at BzzAgent (a word-of-mouth marketing startup). Our success with clients like P&G led to our acquisition by the British based customer science company, dunnhumby. After the acquisition, I acquired a global role as SVP of Product and Engineering for the media business, with a team largely based in London. In my ~4 years in that role, I oversaw the sophisticated media products that deliver personalized media to consumers at global retailers in the US, Europe, Asia and South America.Prior to BzzAgent, I was GM and VP at ZoomInfo, a powerful natural language processing company. I was responsible for helping lead the business from its traditional roots in recruiting to the world of sales and marketing. During my tenure, the “Sales Intelligence” business grew from less than $100k in annual revenue to over $10 million.I also spent 4.5 years at Forrester Research in positions including VP of Strategy and VP of Marketing. Outside of work, I race sailboats, mountain bike, ski, play poker, and most importantly try to keep up with my two kids and wife. I'm on the board of Courageous Sailing, a youth charity in Boston that delivers a unique educational program to over 1,200 at-risk kids.

Svp: Global Product DirectorDunnhumby Feb 2013 - Jul 2016Brook Green, London, GbAfter the acquisition of BzzAgent by dunnhumby , I acquired a few additional roles: including managing director of the Boston office of dunnhumb, another product solution and a team largely based in London. The new products included Media solutions for global retailers and CPGs. For example: Media Centre is used by major retailers in over 20 global markets: including Kroger in the US, Metro in Canada, Monoprix in France, Tesco in the UK, China, Korea, and Eastern Europe, Homeplus in Thailand, and others in Brazil, South Africa, Colombia and India. As part of the transformation, we replatformed Media Centre as a modern web application. -
Svp Product And EngineeringBzzagent Jul 2010 - Jul 2016Chicago, Illinois, UsI joined BzzAgent to lead the product innovation group and shortly after took over management the Engineering team. Although a major change in role, it was a great experience to learn how an engineering team worked and to put in to practice many of the ideas on how to run a creative agile team I had been learning about. The on-time delivery and throughput of the team increased dramatically and we were acquired by a large UK company focused on customer analytics, dunnhumby. -
Vp And Gm Enterprise SolutionsZoominfo, Inc. Dec 2007 - Jul 2010Vancouver, Washington, UsZoomInfo is a powerful natural language processing company that started in the recruiting space. I was responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the business solutions, most importantly leading the business from its traditional roots in recruiting to the world of sales and marketing. During my tenure, the “Sales Intelligence” business grew from less than $100k in annual revenue to over $10 million. ZoomInfo was acquired by a PE firm. -
Vp Strategy And MarketingForrester Research Jan 2003 - Dec 2007Cambridge, Ma, UsI spent just under 5 years at Forrester in various roles. I started out responsible for all the eCommerce on the website, the pricing and positioning of our major products and general market intelligence. In my role as VP of Strategy. I led a process of strategic alignment that resulted in a reorganization of the entire company—and an accelerated growth rate. In the role VP of Marketing, I was responsible for supporting a direct sales force of over 200 folks. I directly managed a team of over 20 people. We were responsible for all the marketing (worldwide), the client/prospect database, marcom, day-to-day sales support and the website (both client and prospect facing). A major focus was increasing the efficiency of our sales force by automating tasks such as lead scoring, nurturing, and opportunity identification so that the sales force can concentrate on selling—the net result was a steady decrease in our cost of sales and higher margins for Forrester. -
Vp Education And MarketingWalden Media 2001 - 2003Walden is a venture backed film company that produces major Hollywood films that have an educational angle (including Narnia, Holes, and other major films distributed by Disney). I had hired one of the co-founders of Walden at Princeton Review, and he hired me to head the web and outreach to educators. I managed the Boston office of ~10+ folks. While the film world is not typically aligned with the rest of my career interests (I have a hard time discerning Brittany from Christina), it was a good place to learn many facets of a hyper-active marketing machine.

Director Product MarketingHomeportfolio.Com 1999 - Oct 2001Newton, Ma, UsBacked with over $60m in venture capital, this start-up in many ways epitomized the dot-com frenzy. I learned a ton of what to do in a fast moving business. This was also my first time supporting a direct sales force--in fact often doing front-line sales myself. I brought to market a number of products and managed a team of 5 product managers. -
Director Ecommerce ProductsCahners Publishing (Reed Elsevier) 1997 - 1999I joined as their first Director of eCommerce and launched their first eCommerce site--working with numerous trade magazine publishers. I worked closely with the CMO of Cahners who left to go join a Dot-Com start-up HomePortfolio.com and who recruited me to join him there -
Product Manager (Cd Roms)The Princeton Review 1993 - 1997New York, Ny, UsI started out in college teaching SAT/GRE/GMAT prep classes. Near the end of my Ph.D. program Princeton Review opened a software division nearby. I started out working part-time on the content and by the time I graduated I was the product manager for the new GRE/GMAT/LSAT CD-ROMs. The first products I launched went on to win well over 50% of the market share. I then took over the SAT/ACT CD-ROM product management as well. We did so well that the Learning Company bought the division and moved it to California. I was offered the option of moving to California with the Learning Company, for personal reasons I opted to stay in Boston.
