Chisara N. Asomugha, MD, MSPH, MHS is a multi-lingual, results-oriented pediatrician and senior executive with over 25 years experience designing and instituting programming and policy related to child health and welfare, healthcare transformation, population health, public health, and the social determinants of health in the US and overseas. She's an experienced transformational leader and served as a senior health advisor and senior medical officer under the Obama Administration spearheading large-scale multi-million dollar projects at the local, state, national and international level designed to improve the health of vulnerable populations. Her work has been featured appeared USA Today and the NY Times and she has penned commentaries for The Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of Health Care for the Poor & Underserved, The Washington Post, and others. Additionally, she is a former clinical fellow in the management and treatment of child abuse and remains particularly interested in addressing trauma – chronic, religious-based, community-level, and institutionalized – experienced by women and girls.
