Original 6 month contract extended by 1 year.Initially oversaw 3 project managers in managing a multi-million pound information security programme, which included preparation for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Given the high profile and sensitive nature of the programme, direct stakeholders included the CIO and Executive Director, Legal.Subsequently joined a programme to improve supply chain efficiency by rationalising warehouse operations, increasing warehouse mechanisation and replacing the warehouse management system (WMS). Managed the integration of the new Matflo WMS via MuleSoft to the legacy merchandise management system (Mercatus) and eCommerce order management system (Sterling). Led a diverse mix of 35 permanent employees, independent contractors and third party consultants. Performed several risk and schedule assessments for senior stakeholders due to a high risk profile and tight timescales. Drove an iterative Kanban delivery approach to mitigate the various challenges - worked with architects, business analysts, testers and a scrum master to define and prioritise features for development and testing.

Stakeholders included the John Lewis Heads of Customer Fulfilment Operations and IT Delivery.Accomplishments included:• Leading a replatforming of John Lewis's MetaPack carrier management solution, from on-premise to software as a service (SaaS). Most challenging John Lewis IT project at the time, as measured by the model used for performance management. Prevented major schedule slippage and improved delivery quality by moving to agile ways of working - went from pure waterfall delivery to weekly code releases in order to efficiently overlap testing with development and identify defects sooner.• Overseeing 5 project managers and 56 people on a project portfolio around customer fulfilment. Delivered important capability improvements such as parcel tracking with proactive case management and customer communications, ability to manage drop ship supplier inventory and orders, and last mile tracking of John Lewis Green Van Fleet customer deliveries.• Managing development and testing on the first release of a multi-year programme to create single omnichannel view of orders. Implemented new order management platform (Sterling) and major changes to other systems including middleware (WebMethods ESB, Ab Initio) and legacy order management (custom .Net) - all to extremely tight timelines.

Delivered changes to Web Back Office (WBO), a set of systems for eCommerce order management, telesales and corporate sales. Initially managed scope, budget, schedule and risk for individual projects to improve order processing and customer propositions. Later oversaw all WBO delivery including demand and capacity planning for both permanent employees and third-party managed services. Supervised 3 project managers and 28 analysts and developers (onshore and offshore), and played a key role in vendor selection, onboarding and ongoing oversight of managed services.Also led WBO aspects of the monthly release cycle for John Lewis's eCommerce platform.
