Having taught in several boroughs of New York City, Andrew has seen firsthand the challenges facing students. Teach For America brought Andrew to New York City where he taught for three years in Manhattan at P.S. 375. During this time, he served as Grade Leader, working with teachers across the school to implement a student data tracking system. In the 2009-2010 school year, Andrew was awarded the Teacher of the Year Award for providing endless time and effort to his classroom and to the entire school, and for delivering results to his students. Before joining SEEK Academy, Andrew taught at P.S. 63 in the Bronx. He brings to the table a dedication, capacity, and passion that will push scholars to succeed. Andrew works to develop a rigorous and joyful culture that permeates the classroom and every aspect of the school. Andrew has a background in both education and policy. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brown University and a Masters in Education from Hunter College. Andrew worked internationally, interning as Staff Assistant to the Ambassador, with the United State Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica, gaining instrumental skills in leadership and international relations. Looking to make a difference in the lives of urban students, Andrew Chisholm joins SEEK Academy and TEAM Schools.
