Senior Software Engineer
I helped transform Isilon's OneFS operating system from startup to enterprise software. I took the rushed and slipshod patching and node join mechanisms, and made them robust and fool proof. I imbued rolling upgrade capability, allowing customers to minimize their downtime. I implemented a policy engine to allow for tiering of data. I designed a flexible well integrated clustered configuration and service management system.I worked primarily in C and Python with some C++. I developed multi-threaded, multi-process and distributed applications, dabbled in kernel file-system development. I developed on OneFS, which is based on FreeBSD, but has a clustered file-system of up to 144 participating nodes and 20 PB capacity, for use as a scale-out NAS solution.
