Identified Sources of resistance in mini-core chickpea collection from ICRISAT, India, and NPGR, U.S. to seed rot and pre-emergence damping-off caused by Pythium ultimum by developing cornmeal vermiculite inoculum.Performed genome-wide association mapping (GWAS) and quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping for resistance to diseases caused by metalaxyl resistant Pythium ultimum and Ascochyta rabiei using chickpea recombinant inbred lines (CRIL-7) and mini-core chickpea collection. Identified significant SNP molecular markers and candidate loci for resistance to seed damping-off and seed rot caused by Pythium ultimum and Ascochyta blight to improve chickpea breeding program.
