SolyPlus GmbH 2024The Schleswig-Holstein-based company SolyPlus GmbH has found a simple biopolymer-based approach to healing chronic, difficult-to-heal wounds and tested it in anecdotal or familial cases. In Germany, between 30 and 50 thousand limb amputations occur every year, mainly due to loss of control or inflammation of these wounds. Using a special form of wound treatment with suitable biopolymers (e.g. hyaluronic acid), wounds can be healed from the wound bed in an extraordinarily short time of just a few weeks. Conventional medicine cannot do this today. At the same time, the patient can be mobilized. We do not need to emphasize the fact that further suffering is avoided for those affected and their families and relatives. The economic consequences of non- or unsuccessful treatment are also of an alarming magnitude. Later, the approaches developed by SolyPlus can certainly be combined with conventional medical developments for the benefit of patients.SolyPlus assumes that significant progress can also be made in the treatment of the large family of burn wounds and decubitus wounds using our approaches.There is a big public interest in such developments.
