In my previous role as the CEO of Native Seeds I worked to unlock the potential of Australian native grasses for applications in revegetation, land rehabilitation, erosion control, amenity sowings, landscape developments and pasture. My experience in research and development in Australian Native grasses spans over 26 years and has allowed me to improve the germination and establishment rate of many Australian natives through selective breeding programs.I have successfully brought a variety of native grass types to market and most recently managed to selectively breed Alpine rice, the first Australian Native Grain. Our various R&D was made possible through the help of various groups and funding bodies. Together we work hard to make Australia's native grass seed available for sale to assist everyone in restoring the country’s beauty. I like to document what I have learned so that those who come after me can continue the work. As such I contribute to publications and reporting to support the research community and I established the bi-annual Native Grass Researchers Workshop. These contributions have been acknowledged by Southern Cross University, NSW and by Curtin University, WA by making me an Adjunct Fellow. I also enjoy writing books to guide revegetation environmental scientists and environmental engineers in their work some of which are available for from www.nativeseeds.com.au.At Native Seeds we are regrowing Australia with native grasses.
