As an Applied Statistics major at Purdue University, I have developed a strong foundation in data analytics, statistical methods, and programming languages, such as R, Python, and SQL. I have applied these skills to various academic and professional projects, demonstrating my ability to collect, clean, manipulate, and interpret data for meaningful insights and informed decision-making. My passion for data-driven problem solving motivates me to pursue a career in biostatistics, where I can use data to address complex questions and challenges in the STEM fields.One of my most rewarding experiences was participating in the Collaborative Undergraduate Biostatistics Experience (CUBE) at the University of Virginia, an 8-week long internship that trained me in introductory biostatistics and R coding. I collaborated with professionals from STEM disciplines, conducted a research project on employee mental health, and presented my data and findings in a presentation and symposium. I also gained valuable leadership and operational skills as a Student Supervisor at Purdue Dining & Culinary, where I managed and trained student associates, oversaw equipment maintenance and food preparation, and closed down the dining court at the end of the day. Additionally, for the past two years, I have been selected to participate in a year-long deep-dive program as a Data Science Researcher at Purdue University, where I work with researchers to study student life using regression analysis and data visualization tools.Through these experiences, I have learned to work effectively in diverse and collaborative teams, communicate clearly and persuasively, and adapt to changing and challenging situations. I am eager to learn new skills and technologies, and to contribute to innovative and impactful solutions in the field of biostatistics.
