This role has been voluntary under the supervision of Dr Sylvia Terbeck, and has involved reviewing articles prior to publishing, by working part of a team with senior members of staff currently at LJMU. I have also been required to conduct my own research within a laboratory setting and analyse these findings, using a host of resources such as SPSS and R-studio. From this job I have learnt how to overcome obstacles within the field of research, such as understanding which statistical analyses are required for specific data sets. Additionally, I have also learned the protocol behind the publication of scientific research articles. As though this role, I have been published as second author, in an article named “Assessing reactive violence using immersive virtual reality”.

This role has been a voluntary position under the supervision of Dr Samantha Brooks. This role involved me helping to design a study concerning a new potential treatment for suffers of anorexia nervosa. During this role I co-wrote ethic applications, and associated supporting documents, which was completed to a high standard. I also designed task stimuli for this study with a minimum level of support needed, using a range of software, including PsychoPy, and online surveys. This role taught me the importance of working within a large team and supporting/ helping others, as through this work, a fellow student was offered the VC scholarship at LJMU.

My role as a carer involved a wide range of roles and experiences. These tasks included being the face of the company and dealing with complaints of service users, and helping with personal care and day to day jobs that service users could no longer do. From this job I have learnt how to remain calm under pressure, to be open and friendly to all my service users, and the importance of being on time.

My role at rouge recruitment included working as part of a fast-paced team serving food to a wide range of celebrity customers including the royal family, and professional footballers. I was also expected to perform other duties including general cleaning, assisting the chefs, and dealing with customer complaints in a sympathetic manner.
