I run the company Target Worm Counts, which provides a Worm Egg Counting and Responsible Worming Programme Service for Horse owners to help them to use anthelmintics responsibly.My main responsibilities are arranging appointments for clients, carrying out the analysis and providing reports of the results. We now have a premises in a retail setting that allows for customers to have face to face with a consultant to help them get a full understanding of Worm Egg Counts.Main motivations for the company is to collect data to use on epidemiological studies into the risk factors for susceptibility to parasitic infections along with the education of owners on why changes to their practice is required.Target Worm Counts is a member of AHDA and is registered with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) for the supply of POM-VPS medicines for Equines.

Main roles involve representing the university on open days and visiting higher education fairs. Conducting campus tours and interacting with potential applicants answering questions about university life. Duties also include office work, telephoning applicants to invite them along to applicant open days as well as data input.

• Working as part of a team in the pre-analytical area of a high-volume diagnostic laboratory that sees samples of up to 6000 patients a day, both acute and GP work. • Responsibilities include: the booking in of the correct blood, urine and faecal samples against the correct patient for biochemical or haematological analysis, addition of any additional test requests from consultants, reporting of results over the telephone to district nurses, addition of relevant preservative and aliquoting of urine samples.• Knowledge of the correct handling of samples with special processing requirements i.e time frames, speed of centrifugation, samples on ice or in a warm bag. • Perform and complete tasks according to the specific SOP and communicate any problems, accidents or incidents affecting the department as soon as possible to a senior member of staff• Competent in weekly and monthly centrifuge maintenance to comply with the legal requirements.

Supervising a team of up to 20 seasonal rangers, making sure breaks were scheduled appropriately and that the site was kept clean. Other roles included daily site health and safety checks as well as being 1st Aider on Call.

Have worked at Twycross Zoo for a number of years I have carried out a number of roles within the Visitor Services Team. I have experience with the handling of cash whilst working on the entry gates, extensive customer service experience and problem solving. During the summer of 2012 I worked as part of a team, 'The Monkey Bunch' where as a team we provided entertainment for children by running activities such as an agility course, arts and crafts and performing dances in and out of skin character costumes for the visitors. I have also worked within the gift shop and the children's soft play area supervising the children. During the Christmas period of 2012 and 2013 I was an elf in Santa's grotto, interacting with the children in character and assisting with 'Breakfast with Santa' and 'Tea with Santa' whilst taking photographs that were available to buy.

Summer Work: I worked full time as an admin assistant archiving the packaging of the food samples that were processed within the laboratories. This involved scanning the packaging using a photocopier then assigning the correct images to the file on the laboratory information system (LIMs). Additionally, I made sure that the figures present for the nutritional information on the packaging correlated with those on the computer database. As there was no full time member of staff to carry out this task prior to my employment there was a backlog. I worked through the back log and near the end of my employment, I was ahead of the sample preparation staff!
