With over 15 years of experience in environmental and social issues, I am the Executive Director of The Ocean Legacy Foundation, a non-profit organization that empowers communities to create long-term solutions for ocean plastic pollution. I have a Masters of International Studies from Simon Fraser University and multiple certificates in strategic environmental assessment, the work that reconnects, and marine emergency duties. My core competencies include social entrepreneurship, circular economy, plastics recycling, and international development. I am passionate about creating positive change for the planet and its people, and I work with diverse stakeholders, such as governments, corporations, NGOs, and local communities, to implement innovative and sustainable projects that address the root causes and impacts of ocean plastic. I bring a unique perspective and experience to the Ocean Legacy team, as I have lived and worked in various countries, such as Australia, Antarctica, Mexico, and most of central and South America. I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and opportunities of ocean conservation and social justice. I am motivated by the vision of a world where ocean plastic no longer exists and legacy materials are transformed into a valuable resource that supports the well-being of all living beings.
