In this role I am one of the lead support workers for the antenatal department, this means I am often put in charge of training new staff members on how to use the many computer systems we use, maintaining a safe working environment for the sonographers, making sure the patients feel comfortable during their scans, acting as a chaperone and helping to type clinical reports. Within this role I am in constant communication with the different teams in the department (midwives, doctors, sonographers, porters and other clinicians). I feel through my experience with working in retail and my counselling skills certificate I have a wide range of knowledge which helps me communicate with patients and staff during their visits in the department. This is important as I now feel I am able to better help those around me as I have more of an understanding on thought processes, dealing with difficult emotions and observing my surroundings. This knowledge helps me ensure the trusts Pride values are held to a high level and that I am constantly working to better improve myself and my work.

I started working for Deichmann in the year leading up to the Olympics, this experience taught me how to interact with many different people from all walks of life. I was mainly based on the till as I was very efficient at serving customers quickly and selling the shoe care items. I also helped with maintaining the stock and cleanliness of the shop, general customer care and helping out in any way that I could. This also included the cashing up of the tills, I helped open the tills in the morning and I also helped with closing down the shop/tills at the end of the day. I was a very valued member of a team, who worked flexible hours
