Hello! I'm Chloe and I graduated from Santa Clara University where I studied biochemistry. At Santa Clara, I was involved in undergraduate research in the Tillman lab and community engagement through my roles as a volunteer EMT for the SCU EMS squad and teaching assistant in the chemistry department.Currently, I am working at the University of California San Francisco in the Nayak Lab. Our research focuses on the impacts of the gut microbiome on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and its involvement in the metabolism of methotrexate, the first line treatment of RA. My research intersects pharmacology, microbiology, and personalized medicine. I am particularly interested in pharmacokinetics, biochemistry, and drug mechanisms of action. I am also involved with CurePSP as a peer support, and it is a personal and professional initiative of mine to raise awareness for rare neurodegenerative diseases and improve treatment efficacy. I hope to pursue a PhD in pharmacology to obtain the tools to improve treatment options for individuals with PSP, MSA, and other neurodegenerative diseases.
