Hello, I'm Dr. Chloe Leach! I am a reserach scientist, specializing in the fields of coastal geomorphology and sediment transport modelling.I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Hull in 2019, where I focused on using numerical modelling (CEM2D) to explore sediment transport processes and their impact on coastal systems.I’m currently a Senior Scientist at Hourglass Climate, a non-profit conducting research into the safety and efficacy of mineral-based OAE strategies and responsible CO2 removal at scale. At Hourglass, I am researching way to optimize sediment properties for carbon removal and to track the fate of minerals for both carbon removal efficiency and for Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV).Before joining Hourglass Climate, I gained valuable experience in both industry and academia. At Vesta (PBC), I designed olivine sand deployments in nearshore environments, and during my time as a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, I contributed to coastal management research that funded by the Victorian Government.I’m always excited to connect with others in the field or those interested in what I'm working on.
