Profile bio

About Chloe Mccaw

I am a Mental Health Clinician at New Narrative providing trauma-informed and client-centered team-based behavioral health care. I recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at New Mexico State University. I am most interested in unpacking the complex relationship between international affairs and psychological processes. In Fall 2019, I studied abroad in Geneva, Switzerland and interned at the International Organization for Migration. I was also a Global Health Advocate with Fund for Global Health for over three years. Through my advocacy and multi-lateral organization experience, I have gained particular interest in formulating novel solutions to improve dissemination of crucial mental health services. I am also dedicated to breaking down perceived barriers between groups of various backgrounds, cultures, and identities. As a former peer mentor in the International House and American Global Fellow at the English Language Institute, I have experience working with international and domestic students alike to overcome cross-cultural barriers and foster mutual understanding. I have provided counseling services to a plethora of individuals with various cultural backgrounds and identities. In the future, I hope to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to provide psychological support services to refugees and migrants. Through my study abroad experiences, I learned the difficulties that individuals face in a novel environment, and I am driven to assist refugee and migrant groups in gaining strategies and skills to thrive.
