In this role I am responsible for a mixture of PR related tasks. I support the Publicist and Publicity Assistant by executing essential media researching, using MuckRack to find relevant media contacts and reach out with targeted press releases, fostering impactful connections for our titles. I am also responsible for filing and organizing media hits. Lastly, I manage awards applications and deadlines, keeping our titles competitive and timely in industry recognitions and mail review copies to critics and awards committees.

As a Senior Writer, I was responsible for writing book reviews and listicles on Word Press, with a focus on pop culture, newsworthy media reports, and popular novels. Beyond writing articles I edited intern’s articles before publication. For my personal articles I researched current events and new novels to cover as well as create all the graphics for my articles on social media. In this role I published over 70 articles on Bookstr.com

While working in the External Communications office I was the lead coordinator of a segment in the library's Biennial Report entitled "Senior Spotlight", for which I conducted interviews. I wrote articles pertaining to events and showcases happening in the library and posting summaries to the Swem Libraryblog. Lastly, I was responsible for copyediting articles written by students for the blog and all outgoing social media posts and emails.

As a publicity intern I worked on publicity campaigns: Hanging the Devil by Tim Maleeny, The Truth About Horses by Christy Cashman, Karma Under Fire by Love Hudson-Maggio, The Magic All Around by Jennifer Moorman, and Benchtalk by Nature Sacred. I was responsible for writing book pitches for news/book outlets (ex., New York Times, Publishers Weekly), blogs, bookstagrammers, to review the books or interview the author. I headed the compilation of author/book praise, reviews, and interviews into lists for authors and PR team to refer to during the campaign. I also gained design experience by creating canva graphics for the Wunderkind PR Instagram page and attended author meetings with team to discuss publicity campaign. My most overarching responsibility was researching local news outlets for publicity coverage of author events and writing up interview questions for authors.
