Working in the Academy & Operations department, I oversee Halogen's Licensed and In-House Programmes by:- Lead training, contextualising and coordinating various Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Mentorship Programmes to create Transformative Experiences for Youth- Partnering with various stakeholders such as Corporate Partners and Schools to ensure the success of the Programmes- Develop & Streamline Department Operations & Process Flows to ensure efficiency & smooth delivery of Programmes

Resonating with the struggles and circumstances of the youth that we work with, I joined the team as a staff after an internship in Halogen. I believe that youth need to be able to see hope and potential in themselves thus, I do what I do.In Halogen I manage our entrepreneurship programme by...- Partnering with schools to support teachers in running the programmes & to achieve their student outcomes- Working with corporate partners to create meaningful impact- Planning events to provide youths with opportunities to grow and build the entrepreneurial mindset

Drawn to Halogen by their vision of 'inspiring and influencing a generation of youth to lead themselves and others well', I started off my internship in their entrepreneurship team, hoping to make an impact on the youths through their entrepreneurship programmes.During my internship, I was exposed to the programme management of various events, sales meetings with clients and planned educator workshops. Being in a charity, I also saw the behind-the-scenes of Halogen's fundraisers such as the Halogen Gala 2018 and our Charity Golf Challenge in 2019. I learnt many lessons on decision making and people management. A quote from my supervisor that resonated with me was 'Maintain a perspective beyond your own' -she coached me to focus on the big picture and never lose sight of our vision and priorities.Being an intern, I was also given the opportunity to train and facilitate our various Leadership & Entrepreneurship programmes where I got to directly impact the youth that we serve. It was a life changing experience, being able to change the negative mindsets that the youths had, a line that the company uses frequently, "changing their 'I cannot's to 'I can's".It was a fruitful time where I found that my burden for youths and impacting the next generation was truly what energised me and what I wanted to continue doing.
