I have recently started working under Dr. Jason Curtis in the Stable Isotope Mass Spec Lab at the University of Florida’s Geology Department.

I worked as an assistant and intern at Fournier Law Office the summer preceding my Sophomore year. Although this does not align with what I want to pursue. Space exploration is heavily dictated by policy and law. Being exposed to this environment helped me gain insight and experience on the legislative side of the profession I would like to pursue.

During the Spring semester of my Freshman year I worked along- side Dr. Charles Telesco in his IMPS (Integrated Miniature Polarimeter & Spectrograph) Research Lab. IMPS is designed with the outcome to ideally be able to detect biosignatures on extrasolar planets and moons atmospheres. I worked alongside other undergraduate and PhD candidates collecting samples and testing the machine’s capability in the lab.

During high school I found it important to hone my professional skills and decided to get a job as a Barista. This position taught me a sense of professional responsibility outside of my academic and extracurricular commitments. I learned integral communication skills and learned important real-world lessons.

This was my first experience in a professional lab. I worked under Dr. Jeremy Owens and his PhD students in FSU’s Earth, Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Department (EOAS). As a senior in high school, I mainly prepared and measured out rock samples for further study and application.
