Chloe McKenna is a postgraduate student at the University of Edinburgh in the Marine Systems and Policies MSc Program. She currently serves as a National Marine Sanctuaries Foundation Education Consultant for the NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. In this role, she co-founded the NOAA Ocean Guardian Youth Ambassador to provide a new form of engagement in ocean conservation for youth aged 13-18 in the U.S. and U.S. territories while supporting ocean and climate literacy development. In May 2023, she graduated from Eckerd College with a BA in Environmental Studies and a BA in Animal Studies, with a minor in Political Science. During her time at Eckerd, she was heavily involved with on-campus, student-led, and local environmental campaigns and projects. Her interests include marine governance and management, environmental and ocean justice, youth empowerment, and the intersection of plastics and the climate crisis.
