Information Officer, The Supreme Court Of The United Kingdom
The Supreme Court is the final court of appeal in the UK for civil cases, and for criminal cases from England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It hears cases of the greatest public or constitutional importance affecting the whole population. It is also a small, non-ministerial government department. The crux of my work was the strategic planning and execution of education and outreach programs for the benefit of the public and UK students with the aim of promoting the Court and the rule of law. This involved liaising and working alongside key stakeholders, including Supreme Court Justices and Judicial Assistants as part of the small Communications team.Examples of my public and outreach work included: mooting competitions, open days, debate days, public workshops and co-ordination of international delegation visits.
