About Chloe Barnes
I am a Lecturer in Computer Science at Aston University, after receiving my BSc in 2017 and PhD in 2021 at the same institution. I am a member of the ALICE Research Group, and my research interests lie in the area of evolutionary multi-agent systems, specifically drawing on theory from neuroscience, biology, sociology and psychology to mitigate the negative effects of unintended interactions between agents in shared environments. I have presented my research at conferences and workshops around the world such as in Norway, Sweden, Germany and Japan, and have also been an invited speaker at BrumAI - a local tech-meetup at home in Birmingham. Most recently, I had the pleasure of visiting and collaborating with researchers from the University of Oslo, where we explored how neuromodulated controllers evolve to learn gamified tasks.I have also served as a member of the Organising Committee for multiple virtual conferences (ALife 2020, and ACSOS 2020-22), helping to create a vibrant, collaborative and enjoyable online space for conference attendees.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Java, Programming, Public Speaking, and 33 others.
