As a serving Board Member on the Conservation & Stewardship Committee, we find strategic ways to preserve the Balcones Canyonland National Wildlife Refuge for current and future generations. Through government advocacy of land protection and land owner education, our goal is to not only protect the Balcones for Golden-Cheecked Warbler habitat but also preserve land to help flood mitigation, over development and keep the hill country wild.

By working with community partners like YMCA, NPS, City of San Antonio Parks and Rec, and others, we assist in continuing programs or develop new ones for youth so that the outdoors become accessible to everyone. Collecting data on outdoor volunteer opportunities also us to see the gaps and where more options can be developed for the youth.
