Provided a support to the children and the teacher in an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) unit during July Provision. Duties included;- Contributing to create a positive atmosphere in the classroom that reflected the school and its ethos.- Helping the children with their learning, playing and social development.- Caring for the children on the bus to and from activities, as well as assisting on out of school visits and swimming lessons, while making them a fun and adventurous experience for all. - Assistance with clothing, feeding, toileting and general hygiene.- Assisting the teacher to prepare for class to begin and cleaning up the classroom.

Provided cover for any SNA in ETNS that was unable to work. Worked in different classrooms, both mainstream and ASD units.

Escorting children with SEN on a taxi to and from school. Duties included;- Safety and supervision of the children to and from the taxi and for the duration of the journey.- Ensuring all safety procedures are followed by all children at all times. - Maintaining a good working relationship with the taxi driver and liaising with the school on any issues that may occur.

Galway

Here I worked as a shop assistant, selling bread in the bakery. I have built a good relationship with the customers in particular the customers who return weekly. I took orders for bread and cakes, took orders for food outside, served organic barista style coffee and kept the bakery shop clean and presentable. I also worked in the restaurant and tearooms, where I waited in full table service. A high quality of service here is provided, I took orders, ensured the tearooms are perfectly clean and that the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable, I also made barista style coffee here.I have occasionally done wash up duty at Griffins when the cover was needed.

Mullingar Educate Together National School

I assisted the teacher in an autism unit for the duration of July Provision. I helped each of the children in their daily routine, ensuring each child was happy, safe and learning in the classroom. I assisted the teacher in the organisation of activities and supervised the children on weekly outings. I also actively assisted during the weekly trip to the swimming pool for swimming lessons.

As part of my university placement, I assisted lecturers, researchers and PhD students in the Centre with their research into child and family services in Ireland in the hope that it will improve the lives of children.I learned the skills needed to identify issues faced by children and families but also the process of creating an efficient research study and academic literature as well as the process of dissemination.I was given administrative tasks such as writing up the minutes from faculty meetings. I helped on different projects occurring in the Centre with the supervision of current researchers. I helped a researcher, Danielle Kennan with a project whereby I proof read a workshop instruction manual which was going to be used in a piece of research. I helped to edit this work and create a manual which was accessible and practical, while also aesthetically pleasing. As a part time job during the university year and full time during the summer, Rock 'n' Bowl has provided me with experience in many different areas I am certain I would not have learned elsewhere. I have learned skills in customer service, team building, event coordination and organisation in my time at the establishment. Rock 'n' Bowl is a family centre that provides a relaxed and fun environment for all ages, there is a bowling alley, children's soft play area, bouncy castle, American style diner, arcade and "Teddy Mountain" which is a 'build your own teddy bear' shop. Due to the diverse services that Rock 'n' Bowl provides I have had the opportunity to expand my knowledge in many different areas of customer satisfaction. For example; • I have hosted children's birthday parties and provided a memorable experience that the birthday child and their family, demonstrating my ability to organise and coordinate events, make decisions and solve any problems that may arise. • I have been given the responsibility of supervising a vast number of children while in the soft play area and bouncy castle 'Jungle Bounce' ensuring all children are safe and having fun.• Developed the expertise to provide a high quality customer satisfaction while working in reception, taking bookings, reservations and deposits. • I have dealt well under pressure when the restaurant or small bar has been particularly busy or when a customer has a complaint. I proudly represented the O2 brand in my university, I was chosen to be the sole representative for the college. I gained much confidence in my ability to sell the broadband services I was promoting.Here I developed strong communication skills while also proving my ability to work very well both in a team and independently and demonstrated my reliable nature. I helped to set up and tear down the pop-up shop event, I both sold and advertised the products, engaging with customers and educated them on the most current O2 offers. I worked in a team where we competed against other Brand Ambassadors around the country who were also selling O2 broadband services. At the end of our pop-up shops we successfully sold more broadband services consistently as a team. As a trustworthy member of staff I promoted O2 broadband throughout the year giving out fliers and creating an awareness of the O2 brand across the campus without the constant supervision of a manager.
