About Chloe Greene

I am a recent graduate of the MSc in Psychology (conversion) (Hons 2.1) at DCU, Dublin. My thesis investigated the impact of the Covid19 pandemic on informal caregivers of those with cancer. I graduated from the BA with Children’s Studies (Hons 2.1) from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2016. I have a passion for the welfare and well being of children and healthcare in Ireland. I have recently gained valuable experience in the area of non-profit organisations such as my experience working as a Community Development Officer with Global Heart Hub. I also have a keen interest in research in the area of health psychology, of which I have nurtured during my time working as an Intern with DCU. There, I helped develop the research looking into animal assistive technologies impact on young people who are facing significant health difficulties. Previous to this, I gained valuable experience working as an Intern at the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre supporting researchers in their work on the area of Family Support and Youth Development services in Ireland. In 2017 I became very sick and spent the next four years in hospital, there I saw the issues patients and staff in the Irish health service face on a daily basis. This really interested me, particularly when I saw how difficult it can be for families and children facing illness or disability. I have extensive hands-on experience working with children in a classroom setting, providing psycho-educational courses on mental health for children and teenagers and as a Special Needs Assistant in both mainstream and autism units, and outside of a classroom, in my voluntary work as well as previous roles working with young people in a group capacity.

    Mullingar
As a part time job during the university year and full time during the summer, Rock 'n' Bowl has provided me with experience in many different areas I am certain I would not have learned elsewhere. I have learned skills in customer service, team building, event coordination and organisation in my time at the establishment. Rock 'n' Bowl is a family centre that provides a relaxed and fun environment for all ages, there is a bowling alley, children's soft play area, bouncy castle, American style diner, arcade and "Teddy Mountain" which is a 'build your own teddy bear' shop. Due to the diverse services that Rock 'n' Bowl provides I have had the opportunity to expand my knowledge in many different areas of customer satisfaction. For example; • I have hosted children's birthday parties and provided a memorable experience that the birthday child and their family, demonstrating my ability to organise and coordinate events, make decisions and solve any problems that may arise. • I have been given the responsibility of supervising a vast number of children while in the soft play area and bouncy castle 'Jungle Bounce' ensuring all children are safe and having fun.• Developed the expertise to provide a high quality customer satisfaction while working in reception, taking bookings, reservations and deposits. • I have dealt well under pressure when the restaurant or small bar has been particularly busy or when a customer has a complaint. I am confident in my ability to balance the needs of many customers and resolve a customer's issues if it arises. Below is my letter of reference that I received after my resignation of this post.
  • Campus.Ie
    Brand Ambassador
    Campus.Ie Sep 2013 - Mar 2014
    Nui Galway
I proudly represented the O2 brand in my university, I was chosen to be the sole representative for the college. I gained much confidence in my ability to sell the broadband services I was promoting. Here I developed strong communication skills while also proving my ability to work very well both in a team and independently and demonstrated my reliable nature. I helped to set up and tear down the pop-up shop event, I both sold and advertised the products, engaging with customers and educated them on the most current O2 offers. I worked in a team where we competed against other Brand Ambassadors around the country who were also selling O2 broadband services. At the end of our pop-up shops we successfully sold more broadband services consistently as a team. As a trustworthy member of staff I promoted O2 broadband throughout the year giving out fliers and creating an awareness of the O2 brand across the campus without the constant supervision of a manager. I was recommended by my employer at Campus.ie to Havas WorldWide, where I worked on loan to them on occasion, representing Tiger Beer in the pubs of Galway city.
