Hello! I'm Chloe, and I am a student at the University of North Texas studying Materials Science and Engineering. In the beginning, I had wanted to focus on fashion and clothing for the rest of my life. I wanted to create textiles that would last years upon years, and clothes that wouldn’t have a drastic impact on the Earth. Through my experience with applying for colleges, I had stumbled across Materials Engineering, and I found a major that immensely impacted my future.Through Materials Engineering, I can do everything I want to do with textiles, but I can also do more. I can experiment with metals and ceramics. Materials Engineering isn’t set to one material to focus on, which I enjoy. It’s the amalgamation of the all the materials seen in our daily life, from metal cutlery to the cushions on public transport. Its broad applications help me know that there’s more to learn about materials, and that I shouldn’t keep my focus on only one kind of material.
