I recruited, managed, trained, and supervised volunteers at three different elder-care facilities. Our robust volunteer programs were bolstered by the community outreach I performed, including collaboration with local organizations. I also worked on communications and marketing initiatives, such as managing our company social media accounts and updating our websites. I raised funds for specific projects by creating and running multiple web-based fundraising campaigns. Additionally, I served as the secretary for internal meetings at two of our locations.

Vergennes, Vermont

I served as one of two volunteers copyediting issues of a local literary magazine featuring work by people in Addison County, Vermont. I helped write and edit the grant proposal that funded the magazine, as well as press releases, submissions guidelines, and other official communications. I also contributed by reading and approving submissions.

Living Well Residence, Bristol, Vermont

During my time as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, I recruited and managed over 100 volunteers who served over 700 hours. I trained volunteers to work with specific populations (elders with disabilities, cognitive impairment, etc.). I also designed and created forms, guidebooks, tracking systems, and other tools for the volunteer program. Finally, I participated in monthly professional development trainings with SerVermont and honed my networking skills along the Vermont AmeriCorps circuit.
