I am a future Social Worker who has experience in working with youth and the geriatric community, as well as having a background in human development and family studies. I am graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and continuing my education to receive my MSW with a focus in children and youth at the University of Michigan. Throughout my undergraduate education I was able to work with children in urban areas, giving me the opportunity to find ways to provide them with basic needs such as food, clothes, and school supplies. I also was an intern at a geriatric social work agency where I had the chance to organize a focus group and research new programs to improve their organization.These experiences led be to become passionate about working in the helping field and to further want to make an impact on other's lives. Through these opportunities I was able to strengthen my communication and organization skills, advance my leadership skills, and taught me how to make important decisions in heavily pressured situations. I am excited to continue gaining new experiences through work and education in order to be a strong Social Worker in the future.
