I first learned about the notion of user experience in a university interactive cartography course, which unlocked a world grounded in understanding and improving how people engage with data-driven stories. A desire to make data more consumable, compelling, and user friendly through visual narratives eventually led me to human-centered design. As design practitioners, our users and peers are some of our greatest teachers. I aim to take what I learn from others and channel it into my own work. Today, I apply my appreciation for problem solving, research, iterative ideation, empathy, and collaboration at Tableau and Salesforce. Our design team creates and supports experiences around analytics and data visualization to empower people and businesses to tell and share their own data stories. Aside from UX/UI, I love learning about all things design operations, scaling design orgs + processes, workshop facilitation, cross-discipline and team collaboration, content strategy/writing, and service design. If you think we’d collaborate well together or would like to connect feel free to reach out.

Senior User Experience DesignerTableau Aug 2020 - PresentSeattle, Wa, UsPartnered with visual, content, and research peers as the UX lead for Tableau Public, Tableau's public-facing and free community platform, to build features for data story consumers and visualization creators. During my tenure I established an Agile-inspired pairing workflow with developers and design partners to ideate, build, and quality test designs in real-time. I conducted and supported research and usability studies, co-led feedback and testing sessions with product ambassadors, and pitched exploratory concepts to marketing, design, and product leadership informing future redesign efforts. Following my time on Tableau Public, I transitioned to Tableau’s marketplace team, Tableau Exchange, supporting user experiences for consumers, application partners, and developers in the facilitation and exchange of Tableau add-ons and tools (such as templates, extensions, and data connectors). I collaborated with design, product, and engineering leadership and colleagues to frame and define the mission and strategy for the Exchange product space, informing upcoming priorities and design needs. Wherever possible, I facilitated workshops to assist with feature framing, scope, content and design strategy.Aside from my product team work, I conducted workshops with the wider design team on topics like product illustration frameworks and design principles, mentored and collaborated with UX design and product design interns, and led team rituals/activities including design critiques, retrospectives, and team-building events. -
